Giving God Praise
Giving God Praise
Psalm 105:1-5
The people of God should praise their God with all that is within them. The Lord is worthy of the praises of His people. There are several ways in which believers can express their praise to God.
First, praise can be expressed through song: “sing unto him” v 2. Music is a very important part of worship. Our songs should be “unto Him” and with the intent to lift up His name. Regardless of one’s singing ability it is a joy for the Lord to hear the praises of His people.
Second, praise can be expressed by “glorying in His holy name” v 3. One should never be ashamed of the holiness of God. He is holy in character, holy in His law, holy in His government and holy in His influence. God demands holiness from those who call themselves the people of God.
Third, praise can be expressed by seeking the Lord: “seek ye the Lord” v 4. One should have a passionate desire for the presence of the Lord. It is important to desire the perfect will of the Lord for one’s life. It is vital that one seek to please the Lord in all that they do.
Fourth, praise can be expressed through remembering the “marvelous works…” v 5. We should remember the Lord’s deliverances. We should remember the Lord’s blessings that have been poured out upon us. We should remember the Lord’s promises to those who are obedient unto Him.
As His children we often complain to God rather than compliment God for the many blessings. Think about how good and how gracious the Lord has been to you today.
